Basic Morning Skincare Routine Includes Five Steps

Gently wash your face and neck with a cleanser and then pat it dry using a face towel.

Cleaning should be the first step in your skincare routine, be it morning or evening, as putting skincare products on dirty skin clogs pores makes it difficult for your skin to breathe. Washing your face first thing in the morning wakes you up instantly.

Choose a cleanser or face wash that is perfect for your skin type but make sure it is not very harsh on your skin. You wouldn’t want your cleanser or face wash to make your skin extremely dry.

Take a few drops of a toner that suits your skin on your palm or on a wet cotton pad and dab it on your face and neck.

Toners have a water-like consistency and get absorbed into your skin in a few seconds. Toners are an essential step in any morning skincare routine as it helps maintain your skin’s pH level and reduces large or open pores.

Take 2-3 drops on your palm, rub it between your palms, then gently press it into your skin.

The serum is a complex skincare product, and the market is flooded with a variety of serums for different skin types. Make sure to choose the right serum based on your skin type and skin concerns.

Serums are used to deal with different skin issues like dullness, acne, pigmentation, etc.

Anyone in his/her twenties and above must include serums in their morning skincare routine as it restores and promotes cell growth. Serums are full of beneficial ingredients and oils; it repairs your skin and lightens and brightens your skin.

Apply any moisturizer that works for your skin.

Moisturizer is the food your skin needs to be healthy. Moisturising is the most basic yet effective thing you can do for your skin. No matter what the weather is or what your skin type is, it would be best if you used a moisturizer at least twice a day.

There are hundreds of moisturizers in the market with different consistencies.

People who have oily or combination skin type should go for gel or water-based moisturizer, whereas cream-based moisturizer works fine for normal to dry skin type.

Always use a sunscreen that has a minimum of SPF 15. Apply your SPF 30 minutes before you step out of your house. If you are into makeup, then apply your primer or start doing your base after you’ve applied your sunscreen.

We can’t stress enough how important sunscreen is for everybody. You need to apply sunscreen even if you plan to stay indoors.

SPF acts as a shield to your skin by protecting it from skin damage and tanning. It reduces pigmentation and hyperpigmentation.

This is a generalized morning skincare routine for all skin types.

You are free to make changes depending on your skin issues and skin type.

Try to follow this morning skincare routine every day for healthy and glowing skin. It will improve the quality of your skin and reduce signs of aging.

You will obviously take some time for you to make this morning skincare routine a part of your daily routine.

Take baby steps and on days when you don’t have the time to follow a full-fledged morning skincare routine, make sure to clean your face and apply a moisturizer.

It will not only protect your skin from becoming dull and dehydrated but will also make it soft and supple.
